Hydraulic Test Stands
Hydraulic fluids are the muscles of industrial machinery. They provide:
- The brute strength necessary to move high power equipment such as bulldozers.
- The quick muscles necessary to move critical control systems in turbines.
- Hydraulics are also the fine muscles used in small components like precision actuators.
When hydraulic-driven equipment comes off the production line, the last step is often a final QA test to determine whether or not the machine works as advertised? The only way to find out is to pump hydraulic fluid into the system and run the machine. This hydraulic oil sits in a reservoir and is circulated into the equipment that is to be tested, then returned back to the reservoir. As fluid is moved in and out of different machines, into and out of non-sealed environments, contamination is inevitable. A problematic hydraulic test stand can result in unwarranted product rejection.
ISOPur® BCA Technology® has had repeated success purifying hydraulic fluid in test stands. Read the following case study to see how ISOPur BCA was successfully implemented at Eaton Corporation to reduce actuator failure.
Hydraulic Test Stand – A large manufacturer of automotive actuators and sensors was experiencing high rejection rates due to contamination of hydraulic fluid in a test stand.
